Early-1960s 1960 Don Bender, K3MMB

Don Bender, K3MMB

(formerly KN3MMB, 1960)

[Editor’s Note – The story that follows is told by Donald’s brother, Dick Bender, W3SYY; 1952 Novice WN3SYY]

My younger brother KN3MMB, was Donald A. Bender.  He was licensed in 1960 and later upgraded to Technician, dropping the "N" from his call.  He used our father KN3QBL's station for his novice operations. He died in 1978 at 43.  Don's call (K3MMB) has since been reassigned.  My brother KN3MMB married soon after he got his license and did little hamming. Later, when he upgraded to Technician class we communicated on 6-M.
